What should I bring to my child’s appointment?
To help your visit run smoothly, please bring:
- Your child’s insurance card and any required co-pay
- A photo ID for the parent or guardian
- Your child’s immunization records (especially for new patients)
- A list of any current medications, vitamins, or supplements
- Any completed new patient forms (available on our website)
How early should I arrive?
We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes early, especially for a first visit or if you have paperwork to complete. This ensures your child’s appointment starts on time and isn’t rushed.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to reschedule or cancel, please contact us as soon as possible at (714) 509-4600 so we can offer that time to another patient in need.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes! We welcome new patients of all ages, from newborns to teenagers. Visit our Visiting Our Practice page for information on getting started, or call (714) 509-4600.
Can I transfer my child’s records from another practice?
Absolutely. We can help coordinate the transfer of medical records from your previous physician. Please call us and our team will guide you through the process. Having prior vaccination records and relevant medical history on file before your first visit is especially helpful.
Do you see newborns?
Yes, we care for patients from birth through adolescence. If you’re expecting, we encourage you to schedule a prenatal meet-and-greet with one of our physicians before your baby arrives — a great opportunity to ask questions and establish care you trust from day one.
What languages does your staff speak?
Please contact our office to ask about language availability. We are committed to making care accessible and welcoming to all families in our community.

Do you still follow traditional vaccination guidelines?
Yes — absolutely and without exception. Our practice follows the vaccination schedule set by the AAP. These guidelines are developed by some of the world’s leading pediatric health experts and are based on decades of scientific research.
We want to be transparent about this: our commitment to the recommended vaccine schedule is not political. It is medical. Vaccines are among the most thoroughly studied interventions in the history of medicine, and the schedule is carefully designed to protect children at the ages when they are most vulnerable.
We also understand that in today’s world, it can be hard to know who or what to trust. If you have questions, doubts, or things you’ve read or heard that concern you, we genuinely want to hear them. Our door is open for those conversations — always kindly, always without judgment. Your child’s safety is our shared goal.
Can you provide referrals to specialists?
Yes. As part of Rady Children’s Health, we have direct access to a broad range of pediatric specialists across Orange County and Los Angeles County. If your child needs specialty care, we’ll coordinate referrals and work alongside specialists to ensure continuous, well-coordinated care.
Do you offer same-day sick appointments?
Yes, we hold reserved slots each day for sick visits. Call us first thing in the morning to be seen the same day.
What do I do if my child gets sick after hours?
We partner with Rady Children’s Health to offer several options when our office is closed:
- 24/7 Nurse Advice Line: Call 1-844-GET-CHOC for free, round-the-clock guidance from pediatric healthcare experts. This line can also connect you to a virtual physician visit when needed.
- Pediatric Urgent Care: For non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries that need in-person evaluation, Rady Children’s Health has urgent care locations available in Irvine and Orange.
- Emergency: If your child is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately. See our pediatric emergency departments here.
Visit our After-Hours Care page for full details and locations.
When should I use urgent care vs. the emergency room?
Urgent care is appropriate for non-life-threatening situations such as:
- Ear infections, sore throats, or minor infections
- Minor cuts, sprains, or injuries
- Fever in children over 3 months who are otherwise stable
- Vomiting or diarrhea without signs of severe dehydration
Go to the ER or call 911 for situations such as:
- Difficulty breathing or turning blue
- Seizures or loss of consciousness
- Severe allergic reactions
- Head injuries with confusion or repeated vomiting
- Any fever in a baby under 3 months old
Not sure? Call 1-844-GET-CHOC and a pediatric nurse will help you decide.
What insurance plans do you accept?
We accept a wide range of insurance plans. Learn more on our Insurance and Billing page. Because coverage options change, please call our office at (714) 509-4600 to confirm that we accept your specific plan before your visit.
How do I request my child’s medical records?
